As Simulated Patient Coordinator at the University of Cambridge Clinical School, I was being asked more and more if the capable roleplayers working for me were available for outside groups training in communication skills. Since then, the Agency has grown in strength, numbers and reputation - year on year. There is at present a team of nearly 150 roleplayers – of all ages – available for work. Although based in East Anglia, we are happy to go wherever there is a need that we can fulfil. Over the past year, Simpatico roleplayers have travelled to Edinburgh, Dublin, Stirling, Birmingham, Bristol and the Sultanate of Oman (to name but a few). Our roleplayers are all trained to exacting standards, ready for work in training sessions and/or examination settings, providing realistic patients or clients. They can also provide feedback in a descriptive and constructive way. From beginnings working with medical students, we now provide a service for vets, nurses, doctors, psychiatrists, consultants, teachers – in fact, almost anyone. Come on, try us.
